Sony BRAVIA NX 800 Series 52-Inch LCD TV, Black Review
Posted by HDTV Buying Guide on June 02nd, 2010
Certainly live in a lot of technical things with this TV, which does not apply to today's top model in the standard, but give credit where it is not over, in his work on television programs such as computer monitors and provides an ultra-sharp crystal clear film . If I put out for the top model of technology, 2 weeks ago I feel like 3D technology, blah blah, but no, I went with this TV over its design, which is the most praiseworthy of the TV.Its unique, ultra-thin base, which separates it from all its competitors. My point is this post? Buy this TV if you have to design the brand and the top line. Do not buy if you compare it with the best technology out there on the market. Right next to the Samsung TV and stand next to Sony television – if you do not care / feel the difference, do not bother with Sony – but otherwise, only Sony has one of the most satisfied customers loyal to their user base.

Uneven Backlighting – Hanz Richter –
I have experience in this TV is not uniform. Very frustrating. It almost seems as if someone cut a horizontal line lightly with a razor in pixels.
beware: defective plastic (creaks) on most models – asturiaz – Belgium
I bought a Sony NX800 a couple of weeks and I felt the need to inform potential buyers, a major problem in this model: they are most likely to hear the creaking of about 30'-60 'when the TV and turn it on. Apparently, given the very cheap plastic model from Sony, which is sold as a high-end TV. Before a product on the market, a reliable company, is to try, but Sony.
After a quick Internet search, I found messagesThe people with the same samples (in addition to the problems of turbidity). After further tests in the shop, seems to fail most of the NX-800 (and NX-700, EX) models.
Unlike what is happening Guests partial (ie paid guests) can not be repaired at the Sony Center on other sites, the problem of cracking sounds that recognize the problem for Sony is prohibited. After a call to the Sony Center, where I bought the NX800 owner told to crackThe sounds are part of the technology.
Awesome LCD ! No complaints – D. Clark – Bowie, MD USA
I have a Sony Bravia for about 3 weeks and havent had any problems with it.
I use it just like another computer screen and it looks really nice. I can not find anything to complain about. Read the article online, watch videos or any other [...] seems incredible.
I like how all the texts and images appear on a television screen, glossy, almost like a magazine. Built-in WiFi is great, but I rarely use.
The settings for HDMI, WiFi and tune the channelis probably the easiest of all TV (and are about 6 LCD / Plasma TV's').
I like the way I ordered on Tuesday and Thursday I had two guys in my office, at home in a setting on my desk. Thanks Amazon!

Awesome for up to 2 years – S. Smith – Utah
It 'been 5 stars for the first two years, so similar to others that have the same problem (read the thread distorted image for more information) anywhere between 1.5 and 2 years, the screen is a problem. It is not really dead pixels, but the screen should be "warm up" for about 20 minutes, then the image is again surprising. The problem is getting worse every month, but right now I'm still painting at 20 minutes.
In essence, the image with a few thick and thin vertical white stripes filled beginningat the bottom and go about 80% (In the beginning it was only along the bottom) of the way to the top before thinning out. At about 15-30 minutes it clears but can sometimes be cleared up faster by turning the tv left/right. This will require service to fix or patience to deal with. Warranty is only 1 year on this tv.
I absolutely loved this tv for the first 2 years, the picture beat all other tv’s hands down. It seems more and more products these days are built to last 1-2 years, I hope the quality is a return in electronic
Buyer Beware – Douglas M. Sweeney – New Providence, New Jersey United States
I had this product for 18 months and stopped working properly. On the right side of the chassis to vibrate in the first round. We also have horizontal lines across the image. All will be safely repaired after 10 minutes – why not. When I called Samsung, who would help me when I was out of warranty. He asked me if I bought the extended warranty. I paid a premium for a good brand, and as such I do not think I would need guarantees. I do not know why Samsungdo not stand behind their product, and fell on the extended warranty. Although we continue to use television, we are moving to another room, and others who do not buy Samsung.
Poor Quality Unit… Breaks after warranty period – Alexander Herrero – South Florida
I purchased this unit in December '07. I was very happy with the device until 12 months after I bought it when he began to develop classic red lines from top to bottom on the left side of the screen. We called Samsung and grateful that the weather was just out of warranty and they replaced the entire panel, so basically only the diaphragm and the connection plate. So I thought everything was wonderful. And it was about 12 months of repairs and guess what '… BacklightThe device is now Gone Bad. This time its out of warranty. I paid $ 2,000 for this device … This is the first time I ever had something so expensive to go bad so quickly. It 's a shame. I bought a Samsung washing machine and dryer. When I have a problem with people who I thought would never buy another Samsung product again. They are just too shaky. I'm so disappointed.

Good at first. – Alex Rodriguez – NYC
I have this TV for 1.5 years in family ownership. When I arrived, I was thrilled. The picture quality is excellent. Take the time to pay, or someone to play with you to set and get the big picture. If you feed a good signal is fantastic with a good picture material. I use cable and HD channels look great. I can not comment on the tuner inside, where I get, the signal is strong enough to do all the HD channels live. TV has manyInputs, but I really want one or two HDMI inputs. The sound of this TV is ok, at best. I often have trouble hearing the dialogue clearly. It seems muddy and choked other sounds. My old Sony XBR800 LCD rear projection TV sound was much better. I think this record is thin, hard to get good sound from it. I tried to help regulate the sound, but nothing like that.
It was all good, what can I say about the sentence. Now comes the bad part. Shortly afterCourses 1 year warranty began to have problems with the settings turned on. During the first 12 months, when I turned on the scene, and one was about two seconds the image will be too late. In 13 months, so I noticed that clicking on the TV more than once started. It took only two or three clicks, added about 4 seconds of running, so I did not pay much attention. Then began a period of four weeks, the number of shots increases. At this point, it takes many shotsstill about 7 minutes on my TV. Once the TV works fine. I contact Samsung and they told me that in 14 months, the warranty expired TV two months and I had to pay for all repairs. This is a great TV, so it is easy to make a repair that is paying the repair man to come home to me. This means that, in search of a few hundred dollars just to diagnose the problem. Then I went online to see if I could find someone with the same problem. It turnsSamsung has this problem for some time. Their power supplies are causing the problem. Samsung is well aware of this problem and does nothing. Many people have this problem right after the warranty had expired. So do not expect this TV to work for many past guarantee period. Then I got in touch with them again requests an extension of the guarantee, because there are so many cases, this type of failure. They refused. This is the first Samsung TVshis property, and will be the last. I'm back to Sony, where I had much luck. None of the many Sony TV I have owned never needed repair before the age of 10 years. Even after the repairs were minor.
In short, while working, the picture was really good. The sound quality is mediocre. Shortly after the time television began with problems on many Samsung TVs. Samsung wants to take responsibility for a known problem. So IWe recommend buying Samsung products, probably because the warranty, and Samsung say that it is not an isolated problem.
It seems that I overestimated the TV. Should be a star. The son of my brother also bought the same TV just got its start in the demonstration. So at this point, I think it will fail all of these televisions. It 's just a matter of time. I never now buy a Samsung product.
Major repair required in less than 2 years…very disappointed – LCD Newbie –
I had to drive here with the exact problem described by TV Watcher Doc Deal (I like to see Doc first comment … maybe I saved $ 110 fee to participate). $ 1,000 to resolve this setting, so I decided it was worth it. Repairman says about 30 of these models has seen the same problem. I am very disappointed because this TV has been great, while he worked. In fact, the second problem was the board to have repair costs an extra $ 300 to … At least we hadalready started working – but angry – at this address. Should I buy an extended warranty two years ago when I bought it for Christmas, I think. I'll probably buy another Samsung, even though their technology is better, but any other manufacturer reliable?

Samsung LN52A650 52-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV 120 Hz with Red Touch of Color
I bought this TV in July 2008 for $ 2000. I must say that this television has maintained as a great product, the speed with which the models 2010 and the LCD. Besides the new 2-inch LED TV combine these models have whem high image quality with a good HD source (PS3, HD set-top box). It 'clear that this model was 750 and even LN52B650, but if one side by side comparison of this versionThe image will look as good. Samsung vydala Funkce pro nové novější Modely, ale z nich jsou většina Buď triky, které lze provádět s externími zařízením, jako jsou PS3. My only problem with the speaker TV, before configuring the audio settings receiver/5.1 was very weak. I thought the tone by 60 + (TV) was a large open space, which is a bit 'of an issue, as I imagine most of the purchase price this TV spend at least one box HT.

Auto Motion Plus 120Hz

This technology doubles the frame rate from 60 to 120 frames per second (120Hz LCD panel) without repeating the same image to make more frames. Super Clear Panel

Samsung enhances the clarity of select LCD HDTVs by replacing the light-diffusing plastic face of traditional LCD HDTVs with a natural black panel with a clear anti-glare shield. Reduced reflection of external light creates a new dimension in image clarity, highlighting black and darkened areas, enabling vibrant, more compelling colors and a brighter, clearer picture. Black will never again appear grayish. Black details will show in vivid black even in dark scenes.
The latest version of Samsung’s breakthrough super clear panel technology makes colors appear more vibrant and blacks even deeper than ever. Enhanced films reduce glare and optimize off-angle viewing. |

Samsung LCD HDTVs use Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp backlights to give you 92% coverage of the NTSC standard, ensuring truer, more breathlessly vivid colors.
Samsung’s exclusive Wide Color Enhancer technology delivers more brilliant colors, even in bright areas of the picture where blues and greens are washed out on conventional screens. Audio Features
TruSurround is a patented SRS technology that solves the problem of playing 5.1 multichannel content over two speakers. TruSurround delivers a compelling, virtual surround sound experience through any two-speaker playback system, including internal television speakers and headphones. It is fully compatible with all multichannel formats up to 5.1 channels. High-quality virtual surround sound can be experienced with just the two hidden, downward-firing side-mounted 2.2-channel dome speakers built into the TV.
SRS TruSurround XT technology delivers an amazing, simulated 3D effect with clear dialog and powerful bass.
TruSurround XT audio also adds three audio enhancement technologies to produce an amazingly immersive sound experience.
- Dialog Clarity brings movie dialog into Focus during the playback of any surround-encoded material to make speech much clearer and crisper.
- TruBass creates incredible deep rich bass allowing a person to perceive significantly deeper, richer low bass tones that are far beyond the physical low frequency capabilities of the speaker itself.
- The SRS WOW feature widens the soundstage by processing standard two-channel stereo material as well as multi-channel encoded material for a dramatic improvement in the playback of any stereo audio over a two-speaker system.
Stereo broadcast reception is offered for MTS and SAP with 181-channel capacity. A sound leveler keeps audio volume consistent during channel changing.
Which Size HDTV is Right for My Room?
![]() |
With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience.
If you know the size of the room you have already, where you want to sit, and where your new HDTV should go once you get it, you can figure out the size HDTV you should get.

Do NOT buy this product – Power problems make it useless – Black Eagle – New York, USA
I bought this set in January 2009. The picture quality is great, and is a good idea for television in general. But after about 10 months, the TV began to have the problem of the power cycle. When we tried to turn on or turn off the TV, there will always be duplicated key. When this happens, we need to unplug and wait some time before we can go to connect and use the TV again. I contacted Samsung service and got the latest firmware. You know what? My TV in the late2008 and have the latest firmware. Firmware Samsung provider gave me is identical to what I'm on TV. It's not a firmware problem. Here I made a big mistake: I did not follow through and ask for corrections from Samsung, as still under warranty. I thought the issue was still manageable, it is not worth the time for the service. Big Mistake. Now 3 months later, I had problems much worse, and we can not turn on the television time.
TV looks great when it works. But there are basic quality / design problems with power. Big TV without power is useless and will be better with a smaller TV is more reliable.
I'll wait and see how service repair / develop and express more.
As Good as it gets! Excellent Picture, Great Sound Poor Remote! – FLY 4 God – Florida
This is good as it comes at a price, they are picky and I have other complaints that the weak remote control, Oh, you can not have everything perfect …….
Power cycles a common issue – J. Jozwiak – Chicago
I have had this device for 16 months. Although I was very happy with the first image I now have many questions. He tries to television, you can pass. I heard that power, but it never happened. He holds a simple click, without pictures. I tried to disconnect the device and try again, but there was nothing to do. I have seen many questions on this problem for other customers. Typical solution is that they waited, and pay $ 500 for a new part. This is a serious structural defectSamsung is not correct. Why is this a problem regarding the proposal would be as if the warranty service. 16 months, is far beyond the operation of 2,500 dollars in product. I can not recommend this product.

This TV is beautiful and has great bang for the buck. There are 120 Hz-aid and show the image is always so clear on Blu-ray. It 'almost like looking out the window. The images are so clear and fresh that his hair on the face of women, otherwise we might see on a regular tube television actress who does not want to see to see. You see a man who pays his face and all the dogs fresh on the nose. 120 Hz film shows a very smooth movement. These TVworks well when playing PlayStation 3, so if you have the console, why is television, it was as if they were made for each other.

Poor Quality Unit… Breaks after warranty period – Alexander Herrero – South Florida
I bought the unit in December '07. I was very happy with the device within 12 months after I bought it when he began to develop the classic red from top to bottom on the left side of the screen. We called Samsung and grateful that the weather was only the warranty and they replaced the entire panel, so basically only the diaphragm and the connecting plates. So I thought everything was wonderful. So far we have about 12 months after repair and guess what '… BacklightThe unit is now gone bad. This time outside the warranty. I paid $ 2000 for this device … This is the first time I've ever heard, so dear to go wrong so quickly. It 'a shame. I bought a Samsung washing machine and dryer. If I have a problem with them, I will never buy a Samsung product. Are just too shaky. I am so disappointed.
Good at first. – Alex Rodriguez – NYC
I have a TV for 1.5 years in their possession. When I realized I was excited. The picture quality is top notch. Take the time to pay, "or someone to play for you, and you have a great picture. If you feed a good signal with good material, the picture is great. I use cable and HD channels give their best. I can not Commenting on the internal tuner, as I live in an area where I can be quite strong enough signal to receive all HD channels. This TV has manyInputs, but I really want one or two HDMI inputs. The sound of this TV is okay, at best. I was often difficult to clearly hear the dialogue. Seems muddy and flooded other sounds. My old Sony XBR800 LCD rear-projection TV have much better sound. I think many of them subtle, hard to get a good sound out. I tried to help adjust the audio settings, but nothing like that.
That was all the good that I wanted to say about punishment. Now comes the bad side. Shortly after1 year warranty expired, I started having problems with the settings turned on. For the first 12 months, as if I were the file once, and get about two seconds too late, click on the picture will be. At 13 months, I have noticed that television has started to visit more than once. It took only add 2 or 3 clicks to start about 4 seconds, then pay close attention. Then, before the period of 4 weeks, the number of clicks. At this time, he takes shots and countlessrotate about 7 minutes on TV. Once the TV works fine. I have been in touch with Samsung and they told me that 14 months is on television two months warranty, and I have to pay for all repairs. This is a great TV, so it's easy to take the workshop to pay the repair man comes home my resources. This means that I'm looking forward to a few hundred dollars just to diagnose the problem. Then I went on-line, if I could find someone with the same problem too. SeemsSamsung has this problem for some time. Their power is the cause of the problem. Samsung is aware of this problem and nothing like that. Many people have this failure shortly after the warranty expired. Therefore, you should not expect this TV to work long past the warranty period. I contacted them to ask for an extension of the guarantee, because there are so many examples of this mode of failure. Refused. This is the first Samsung TV, IPossession and will be the last. Back to Sony, where I had a lot of luck. None of the many Sony TV I have owned never needed repair before the age of 10 years. Even at that time were small repairs.
In short, while she worked, the picture was really good. The sound quality is mediocre. Shortly after the television warranty started with the problems that are common to many TV sets from Samsung. Samsung does not assume responsibility for the well-known problem. Wish ISamsung recommends buying the product because it is likely that after the warranty, Samsung and do it, is an isolated problem.
It seems that I overestimated the television. Should be 1 1 Star. My brother, the son also have the same TV only his ascent to the action. So at this point, I think that all these TV fails. It 'only a matter of time. Now I will never buy Samsung products.
Major repair required in less than 2 years…very disappointed – LCD Newbie –
Thus, there was a mechanical problem on the item you want TV Watcher Doc solution described below (which I saw was Doc's comment above … I can save $ 110 fee to participate). Fix $ 1000 per set, so I decided it was not worth it. Handyman said about 30 of these models with the same subject. I am very disappointed because it was a great TV, while she worked. In fact, the second circuit solves the problem, which costs an extra $ 300 a … We should at leastalready appeared functional – but angry – the solution for this. I had bought extended warranty bought 2 years ago, when I asked for Christmas, I know. I will probably buy a new Samsung, even though their technology is better, but no other manufacturer is more secure?

Samsung LN52A750 52-Inch 1080p DLNA LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color Review
Posted by HDTV Buying Guide on March 13th, 2010
I have the TV campaign and can not complain about anything in terms of image quality. It 'incredible. Dynamic contrast settings are seamlessly. I also have a Samsung Blu-ray, so I Anynet benefits of technology. The HDMI connections make a big difference in video component – detail is excellent. 120 Hz Motion settings can sometimes be too high (I keep it low), tends to show that the movement can not see therecognize the naked eye. (You can get a small head, so I imagine why someone would want or need a new technology should be 240 Hz). Even the old films in black and white are beautiful on this TV. I also have a PC via HDMI and DVI connectivity with a laptop computer with excellent results. There are no dead pixels all over the world.
The sound is good, given the size of the speakers, but I run through the Yamaha 5.1-channel AV, which obviously makes it more realistic clarity.
And oh yes, I bought the re-set certificates, which saved me a lot.

Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA)
![]() |
You already know something about digital living. There’s the TV and digital video recorder in your family room. (And another set in your bedroom.) You have a PC and digital printer in your office, along with a network attached storage device. And you’ve copied all your music onto your portable music player and haven’t had to open a CD case for years. But getting them to talk to each other can be pretty tough. Why is it still so difficult to send digital content from one device to another?
Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) is a collaboration of the world’s leading consumer electronics, PC and mobile companies that has created design guidelines for a new generation of products that can work together — no matter the brand. Think for a moment about all of the photos “locked away” on your home PC that you wish you could access while entertaining your friends and family. Now, thanks to DLNA enabled devices, a DLNA-enabled PC can be accessed from the comfort of your living room or family room via a DLNA-enabled HDTV, where you can enjoy your memories with friends and family, without having to deal with the hassle and non-intuitive “PCexperience”. Or, say you recently downloaded your daughter’s birthday party video from your digital camcorder to your PC. Now you want to share it with your parents who are visiting. Without DLNA, you probably have to burn a DVD of the video or hook up the camcorder to the TV. With DLNA, you can just use your TV’s remote to call up the video on your TV. That’s it. |

Sony BRAVIA V-Series KDL-52V5100 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Black Review
Posted by HDTV Buying Guide on February 21st, 2010
I have had this TV for 3 months and I really like. This is a great upgrade 27 "CRT TV it replaced. If you have a lot of television, and even a few old tube TV, the new HD television to watch, how to improve your experience on a large scale.
This TV: After much research, consultancy and a series of visits to showrooms, I decided on this TV. I bought from another vendor a little 'less, but I hate it because I have had much luck with Amazon. TV haswell packed in good condition. The interior is simple.
I have this TV because it is a bright room with many windows. LCD better than plasma in these conditions, I said. Addition, the Sony screen is less bright than other competitors like Samsung worthy. You can verify this by entering the room and watch the lights flash on the screens in the store. The TV works well in bright environments.
The picture quality is very good. SufficientInputs, we have cable HD DVR, Sony Blu ray and Xbox 360, which is connected via HDMI (there are 4 HDMI inputs) and Wii. This is a standard connection to a PC, if the computer does not have HDMI connector.
/ Internet Appliance Network, I found that I can play videos and images are linked to my Windows XP-based PC to your TV with Xbox (with the Cisco Wireless Ethernet Bridge, bought by Amazon, works great). To connect to the computer via the Xbox, you mustCable network or a wireless router with an Ethernet bridge on television. Blu Ray Sony BDP-N460, which connects to the Internet and displays some of the free and paid content, including films from different manufacturers, such as Amazon. E 'clean enough, and offers opportunities for on-demand movies, which seems to be less expensive than my offer cable.
To connect multiple devices to the Internet you can get Trendnet Ethernet switches on Amazon for $ 10, whichWe can bridge up to 4 connections to the Internet via cable or wirelessly. I bought the HDMI cable inexepensive from Amazon, and it seems to work (you can pay much more for the $ 5.10 version cable I bought to work, too).
TV sound is OK. Courses stereo RCA cable to use an old movie, if you want the sound quality (of course, surround sound system work).
Overall I'm very happy with my purchase of television and other components thatTV more functional. We live in interesting times.

In addition, BRAVIA V-Series HDTVs use proprietary Image Blur Reduction technology to further enhance the picture for even better performance. The HDTVs also feature BRAVIA Engine 2 technology, which uses exclusive Sony algorithms to reduce visual noise and sharpen and enhance an already-striking dynamic contrast ratio. Additionally, they include seven versatile HD connections to ensure you get impressive image quality from all your HD components. Take advantage of four HDMI inputs, component and composite inputs, and a PC input, as well as a USB input that lets you play audio files from USB storage devices, or connect a compatible camera to your HDTV for a quick and easy slide show. Great TV – N. Ayres – Atlanta, GA
Picture quality very good and healthy. This is my first HDTV and it looks great, with vivid colors. HDTV is the next level, and I like Sony televisions. Great combination with my new TiVo HD – the only way to watch TV. Free shipping from Amazon, you will have (or garage, if you're lucky, the curb), you will need help to make unpacking and at home.
Everything I Wanted – Julian – Georgia, USA
Great picture, great sound, Sony, and quality all at a good price.
Others came much closer to what interests me, but I can only say that I do not think anyone will be disappointed with this TV purchase.
Even though I know that's not much to review, I just wanted my joy, realizing another.
Dare to Dream! – Jay – So. New Jersey
52V5100 was everything I hoped for, affordable, large-screen HDTV.
No effort was established (open window, remove the infectious TV, turn on), but it took 20 minutes to find all available channels. 52V5100 found more than I expected. Not only lead channels of analog TV via cable (I have not been updated yet), but 50 or so, wirelessly, via digital channels (Philadelphia PA) area. Therefore monitor analog cable looked bad on the big screen, but there wasall local HDTV channels. Fox was watching football on in HD and much, much better than the normal version cable.
Once the channel was time for a conviction. My last HDTV is a 32 inch LG and I spent two weeks trying to paint what I wanted to protect her. 52V5100 is out of the box perfectly. Blacks look ideal in programming, but the raven hair, someone lacked definition (also black?). The picture quality was very good. Without smudgingFootball game. Colors seemed perfect. The pictures look good, even in a corner.
The first test was a standard DVD video up-scaling DVD player and the picture was very good. N. action sequences confused. Two people said that "King Kong" false. I do not know if the left or the film itself, or the reader some detail.
Negative
No Picture in Picture (a) what you pay for.
Remote is nothing to be excited. It's a bit 'thin, with a round bottom. It does not Sony "return" key, which is the last input channel when you switch between them. This may be intuitive, since the buttons of the center. I've had worse remotes (like Comcast).
Monitor HDMI slots are usually on the side of the TV, while only one lying on his back.
The sound is average.
Definitely recommend. The price paid in the MOM local / TV pop-Shop was founded in January 2010: $ 1199

Full HD 1080
There are a lot of ways to define high-definition but BRAVIA Full HD means you’re getting the best resolution that high-definition has to offer consumers. With Sony BRAVIA W Series HDTVs, Full HD 1080 means 1920 x 1080 pixels5 and 1080p video inputs. Your lifestyle demands the best in high-definition and with BRAVIA Full HD 1080 products you get it.
1920 x 1080 Panel Resolution
1920 x 1080 Panel Resolution — When it comes to high-definition TV the pinnacle of performance is achieved by using 1920 x 1080 display panels. And BRAVIA W Series televisions have them. Full HD 1920 x 1080 panel resolution with over 2 million pixels 5(more than twice that of 720p HDTV) is exactly what you need to reproduce the 1080p content that can be delivered by our cutting edge 1080p Blu-ray disc player.
10-bit Processing and 10-bit Display
While it’s great to state that a TV is capable of creating billions of colors it’s a whole lot better when you have a display that can actually display them. That’s the logic behind Sony’s 10-bit processor and 10-bit display. Sony follows 10-bit processing with a 10-bit panel, allowing 64 times the levels of color expression than an 8-bit panel. What that translates to is smoother transitions from color to color and subtle color changes faithfully reproduced.
BRAVIA Engine EX Full Digital Video Processor
The BRAVIA Engine EX full digital video processing system is based on Sony’s famous BRAVIA Engine video processing system.
Live Color Creation System featuring WCG-CCFL
Decades of television know how allow us to realize that an LCD TV is more than just the panel; it’s actually a system. Uncompromised picture quality starts with combining carefully chosen components and circuits to optimize system quality, among these are the color creation and processing functions. That’s what Live Color Creation is all about. It starts with the BRAVIA Engine EX video processing system, which enhances primary colors and corrects half-tone colors for natural overall color. Next, a WCG-CCFL backlight using Sony’s phosphor formula delivers a specific spectrum of light designed to work with our specially formulated color filters. The combination of these three components creates deep, deep blues and natural greens for overall colors that draw you right into the picture.
Advanced Contrast Enhancer (ACE) Function
Sony’s Advanced Contrast Enhancer (ACE) builds on our excellent on-contrast ratio performance of 1,800:11. A Dynamic Contrast Ratio of up to 16,000:12 is achieved by using real-time image processing to adjust the contrast along with optimizing backlight levels. But rather than focus on the “numbers”, Sony focuses on actual picture performance avoiding exaggerated blacks where detail can be lost. ACE translates to blacker blacks in darker scenes, as well as better shadow detail in other scenes for a difference that you can see.
x.v.Color technology
BRAVIA HDTV’s performance has now advanced to the point that the color range can be defined by limitations in the original video source, rather than the TV. Thanks to the adoption of a newly approved international color standard called xvYCC (an option in the HDMI v1.3 spec and which Sony participated in creating), the color space has been greatly expanded. 1.8 times as many natural colors as existing HDTV signals will now be faithfully reproduced. x.v.Color is the name Sony has chosen to promote video products that include xvYCC capability. x.v.Color enabled products can now offer more accurate color reproduction and natural colors.
24p True Cinema (24p Input Capability)
Many movies are filmed at 24 frames per second (fps) and prime time TV programs are video taped at 24p. Seizing on an opportunity, some studios are taking a purist approach and encoding high definition video content such as Blu-ray Disc in 24p. Sony wisely takes advantage of this by including 24p output capability on their BDP-S1 Blu-ray Disc player. It makes sense that select 2007 BRAVIA TVs will include 24p input capability. The benefit? Images are smooth and natural looking. Once you experience 24p video it will be hard to view video without it.
DMex – Ready (Digital Module Extender)
Sony’s Digital Media Extender (DMex) ready televisions offer a digital connection path for the addition of the optional modules like the new BRAVIA Internet Video Link. 6 With innovative DMex expansion capabilities featuring the Emmy award winning XMB user interface, select 2007 models are not merely TVs, but powerful entertainment platforms that not only meet your needs today, but expand easily to meet tomorrow’s needs as well.
Xross Media Bar (XMB) interface
When was the last time you saw an on-screen display that was fast, fun and easy to use? Sony’s award-winning Xross Media Bar (pronounced Cross) provides a logical and fast way to access set up menus, user controls, and more. The on-screen display comes to life by pushing the XMB menu button on the remote. Navigation through the menus is smooth and fast.
BRAVIA Theatre Sync technology
Sony created BRAVIA Theatre Sync to go beyond basic digital audio and video transmission. Based on the HDMI-CEC function. BRAVIA Theatre Sync will be included on select BRAVIA Theatre home A/V systems and components. This useful function reduces the hassle and time consuming job of powering up, routing signals, etc. to the simple push of one button.8 Sony calls this nifty feature BRAVIA Theatre Sync. Here’s how it works. Want to play a DVD on your Sony A/V system? Easy, just push PLAY on the BRAVIA HDTV remote and everything is taken care of for you. Even when the system is off! Want to change from TV sound to digital surround sound through your Sony BRAVIA Theatre A/V system? Just one push of the Theater Sound button on the remote and voila, surround sound through your system. Want to power down everything once you’ve finished enjoying it? Push one button and the TV and A/V system powers down. BRAVIA Theatre Sync helps make things a whole lot easier to operate.
S-Force Front Surround
Built around a sophisticated set of Sony algorithms, the S-Force Front Surround enhancement function generates realistic surround sound from the two speakers in the TV. Unlike some other “virtual surround” technologies, sound does not need to be bounced off of side walls or other surfaces to hear three-dimensional sound. No matter what the size or shape of the room it’s possible to hear sounds from behind you.

Great for 3 years until it died. – clubnev – Matlacha, FL
I have this TV for three years. I have no complaints. One day, it's easy to stop working. I have the company extended the warranty went out, said the entire panel must be replaced. Now you're going to buy me, so I can buy another TV.
Disappointing that the TV has lasted three years. I'm glad I bought the extended warranty. I do not usually buy, but already in 2007, according to Consumer Reports, the life of LCD and was well knowncostly repairs. So I spent the money. Now I am glad I am.
All I can say is that this TV is perfect, until his death. I was very pleased. Mine was in a bright room, and there was no loss of color on TV. I had a lot of sunlight reaches the image quality is the same, no matter how light the room. I also like that this TV has a piano finish. I did not want a debate on TV because of all the sun and the reflectionthat our family rooms.
Not what I expected from a ,400 TV, especially a branded name – Rmass – LA, CA
Sears bought my KDL52W3000 on one of their sales in the month of November 2007. $ 2400 out the door seems a good solution in this TV.
It worked well for about 14 months before it began horizontal line on the right side of the screen to create a development of ghosting. If I went back for a moment, the image returns to normal. But eventually the problem returns. I have extended warranty, do not imagine that the TV could go so wrong so quickly.
PixelsProblems with this TV based on joint assessments.
I am a big fan of Sony products, in particular, was the tube television. More.
I'm not regretting Samsung rose next to her.
My sister has a Samsung, at present, and the picture looks alive. Samsung because I had a clear framework that can be bad if viewed on Windows, and so on. But the glossy screen makes the contrast and black level is much better.
Sony is not for me, unlessThis is 50% or better results that what I feel is worthy.
If you're shopping for the quality of TV images is important, but reliability is also important because it can be very frustrating to see your money on the sidewalk.
Thanks to American Express – Pratibha Shah – Munster, Indiana
I have used this model for a period of twelve months has been pretty strong image, then started showing vertical lines used disappears after a while, there was little more than a guarantee, we are concerned about our loss, hit one of my inlaws to me when it bought the American Express Card, autometaically extended warranty for a year, I sat down with American Express, visit my home and immiediately act and be registered to load!
Vertical Line on the left – N. Thiruvarangam –
This 2-star rating is only for Sony, if there is a sign that I should do 3, no one expects the LCD panel purcahse with text in 9 months of image quality love for 8 months, then started showing a thin vertical line on the left side of the screen remains for a few minutes but then disappears when compared with Sony, they told me to contact the local trade, repair person came and told me that the Commission should be replaced because it waswarranty, which replaced it for free, but I did not expect from Sony.
