Love my Toshiba TV. Use it in my camper, and it works great. Requires some 'juice more than I prefer, but it works. The speakers seem a bit 'weak when the surroundings are noisy, as it rains and you're in a trailer with canvas bunks.

The Value of LCD TVs
Aside from their obvious aesthetic value, LCD TVs are much more practical in the home than CRT (tube-style) televisions. They take up a smaller footprint, and thus use up less floor space in the room. Also, LCD TVs are lighter and easier to move around when cleaning or redecorating. The 19HLV87 is only 3.5 inches deep and weighs less than 20 pounds. Best of all, LCD screens use less power than CRTs and plasma screens.

This screen also has a pixel resolution of 1440 x 900 — which qualifies it to display 720p HDTV images. A built-in comb filter reduces digital artifacts produced by signal noise, making for more detailed images.

Full-Featured DVD Player
The 19HLV87 includes an integrated DVD player compatible with several disc formats: DVD Video, CD-R, CD-RW, VCD and DVD-R. This player is also DivX home theater certified, which means it display popular Internet video formats, such as DivX, AVI, and MPEG4. Similarly, MP3 and WMA-encoded music files recorded to disc will play nicely.

An interesting feature of this player is Digital Picture Zoom, which allows you to select and magnify an area of either freeze-frame or motion video.

Connections
The set has a built-in digital television tuner, so out of the box it can receive digital broadcast ATSC signals and QAM signals used by most digital cable providers. It also has a built-in 181-channel NTSC tuner, so it can also accept traditional analog signals. It is also capable of the following connections:

Audio
The 19HLV87′s bottom-mount speakers deliver stereo sound, but for those with a 5.1 surround sound system, the 19HLV87 outputs Dolby Digital and dts digital audio from the DVD player through an optical port. A front headphone jack allows you to watch TV without disturbing those around you–perfect for late-night viewing. Toshiba’s StableSound feature maintains television volume within a preset range regardless of the source signal. This is an extremely useful feature when transitioning between a quiet television program and a very loud commercial advertisement or when changing channels.

Poor choice for trailer – M. Adams – Southern California
This TV came with our trailer. It seems pretty nice (very common), running quite easily and has a good sound. If it is really bad for us is the vertical angle. If you're in a trailer, because the possibility that it is mounted high, with TV, you can immediately begin to lose quality drops as the viewing angle. The manufacturer does not concern me would be interesting to see what they have to check this. But it is with our mobile TV and is fullyunwatchable sits on one of the locations in the trailer. Stand or come to the bed for you. My negative opinion is based solely on the basis of this function, so that does not take into account the concern you, then why not. I bought this unit for the room because my mother coming to visit. When he arrived, was once a 14-day period for defective goods. We found just that when you change channels, fast fowarding CD, etc. The device stops and go to a black screen. He could not turn on or off. I bought a year ago and had no problems whatsoever. The picture quality is very clear and crisp, much better than what I used. Easy to use, easy to connect, good sound, overall good to buy what. Certainly not a big screen is still big for my bedroom. I use mainly as a monitor for my laptop when I watch movies, but sometimes I use for my PS2 and Wii. Absolutely recommended if you do not try larger screens.

I bought this TV through Best Buy for $ $ more than what is listed on Amazon. TV was great when it worked. After just over a year, is stone dead. He sat on my dresser for months. I do not put them there, or push. Then, one day does not start. For the amount you pay for it, should last more than a year. TV should be more reliable than a coffee maker $ 10!

Toshiba 19AV500U loses a channel – Mick – Laingsburg, MI
Our Toshiba loses his memory for a channel, it is interesting, the strongest channel in our area. When I bought this set was ok and I'm glad the company. Then we went .. DVD started, and I cried and cried and I wrote, and I cried …….. Not for 30 days. He finally said that the warranty has expired. Luckily I added warranty from SquareTrade. He had a solid and techniques that ProScan Parts Department Sucks.Waited 3 months the DVD player. I bought this set with on-line for Costco 199.00, but now seems to offer expired. This is a great TV for the price. High definition and standard definition are both great. I wish I had bought two for the price. I am not an expert on high definition televisions and can not be compared to technical positions. I just know that I have seen 26 "HD TV in less everywhere. I bought this TV at Circuit City closed its doors. He was satisfied with the picture and sound. Remote, but it is difficult to use laterally across the room. This is a relatively small TV and it is good for small rooms. Very good picture and sound adequate, DVD player does what is intended. Our complaint is the only channel evolution is very slow and not switch between two channels. Surprisingly good instructions! All-round of negotiations.
